Highways for LIFE

Success Stories

(Snapshots of success projects from around the country)

Even though most of these projects were completed prior to the development of Highways for LIFE (HfL), all of the innovations used were part of the philosophy envisioned by the Federal Highways Administration when developing the program. Their combined ideas are to accelerate the improvement of safety, reduce construction-related congestion, improve quality, and why it is beneficial to pursue non-traditional approaches and technologies. A secondary purpose is to inform local agencies, the highway user, and the public. The success stories included within, describe the benefits to the highway motorist, user and owner agency.
