There is a great need for audible signals at crosswalks of street
intersections. Blind and visually impaired people need this signal to know
when to cross safely. I live in Sun Lakes a retirement village of 23,00
people and growing. We have an estimate population of blind/visually disabled
of from 400 to 600 persons. The major cause of this condition is macular
degeneration. We could use some of those audible signals for dangerous
crossings at some of our streets. We would welcome your visit to our
community at one of our meetings of the "Eye Openers". We meet every third
Friday of the month at 10 AM. My name is Stan Olivier. I am a Sun Lakes Lion
Club Member.
