4.1.3(5) EXCEPTION 4: þ In new construction, platform lifts may be used in lieu of an elevator only under the following conditions and where State and local codes permit.

4.1.6(3)(g): þ In alterations, the use of platform lifts is not limited to the above conditions. Platform lifts may be used as part of an accessible route in alterations.
