Lava fissure in Napau Crater, Kilauea Volcano, Hawai`i

One of five eruptive fissures from episode 54 shoots lava 10-30 m high just northeast of Napau Crater. The episode began when fissures opened on the floor of Napau, 4 km uprift from Pu`u `O`o. During the next 24 hours, about 300,000 m3 of lava were erupted from the fissures.
