The Office of Innovation and Improvement manages grants related to parental options, teacher quality, education improvement, and technology. The Office is also responsible for aggressively disseminating information as a result of these grants to the education field.

As part of dissemination, the Office of Innovation and Improvement sponsors events, such as the Innovations in Education Exchange, the "Innovations in Education" conference with the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and other conferences and meetings to foster the exchange of ideas and communicate with the public.
