Chinese Embassy Delegation to Visit PWRC On November 27, 2007, a delegation of ten Science and Technology staff of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United States of America will be visiting Patuxent Wildlife Research Center. The group is headed by Dr. Luo Hui, the newly appointed First Secretary for Science and Technology. Dr. Hui is very interested in the work of the USGS, including current and future collaborations between USGS scientists and Chinese scientists. She recently visited USGS headquarters with Third Secretary Wu Wei and met with various BRD Program Coordinators and other senior staff. The purpose of the PWRC visit is to introduce the Embassy staff to PWRC’s science program, with emphasis on the ongoing collaboration with WERC on a study of wild birds in China as potential vectors for highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1).
