Figure 41 is a photograph of the front of a freestanding elevator tower connecting upper and
lower sidewalk levels in the steeply sloping terrain of a riverfront town. A parking lot is at the
bottom; at the top--five ‘stories’ above it--a covered passage bridges the hillside between the
elevator enclosure and the sidewalk. Figure 42 shows a side view of the same structure. |
