Figure 25 is a line drawing plan illustrating the path of a car turning right at a corner with a
diagonal curb ramp. Pedestrians waiting to cross the perpendicular street screen the driver’s
preview of a pedestrian using a wheelchair, who enters the intersection at the apex of the corner
and turns toward the crosswalk to his right, outside the driver’s field of view, which is directed
toward the pedestrians clearing the crosswalk. Because the pedestrian in the wheelchair is also
turning right, he may not see a rapidly-approaching car and an accident may result.
