I am sending this in preparation for your upcoming hearing in Portland, OR. I am
unable to attend but want to say something. I completely and wholeheartedly
support the position of the National Federation of the Blind. I am particularly
concerned both at the cost of having each and every intersection having these
noisy traffic signals and unsafe domes. They would become unsafe in rainy and/or
icy conditions. Then there are those in society who want to wear high (or higher
than normal) heels. That creates to me a situation of an accident just waiting
to happen. Isn't life tricky enough? Let's bring some reason and common sense
into this process.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Byron Sykes
