The 8-state region making up the Northern Plains Area of the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service is an exciting and dynamic place to live and work. Do you love the big, blue prairie skies of the aptly named Great Plains, or is the crisp air and scenic view from a mountain peak more your style? We’ve got both and more in the NPA, including lots of room to hike and ski, hunt and fish, shop and dine.
Low crime, clean air, good schools and plenty of elbow room characterize the communities of the NPA. That makes these small and mid-sized cities ideal spots for our employees to raise their families and do work that really matters – discovering new techniques and technologies to protect our natural resources, expand our nation’s (and the world’s) food supply, and improve human health and nutrition.
