Partner Information

The Partnership Team believes the foundation for broad-based participation in the census must be built at the community level. Its primary purpose is to establish partnerships with state, local, and tribal governments, and community organizations, businesses, and the media.

Partnership specialists develop and nurture partnerships with local businesses, associations, social service organizations, and other community groups. They also recruit state, local, and tribal government partners. Their primary responsibilities are getting help with geographic programs to improve the address list, and establishing and supporting Complete Count Committees.

Media specialists contribute by developing ongoing relationships with members of the local and regional media.

The Partnership and Data Services Program will supply speakers to give workshops, host exhibits, and attend seminars. The geography staff is also available to speak and give presentations on geography issues, such as explaining census statistical areas and TIGER (Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing system).
