The U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, Office of Trade Development, Information Technologies Industries division is a useful resource for U.S. businesses. Located in Washington, D.C., the Office of Information Technologies Industries division reports on industry developments, and works with U.S. firms on their international marketing efforts - including the sponsoring of trade events to increase market opportunities.

The European Union’s official ICT sector website, maintained by the EU Directorate-General for Enterprise covers e-business as well as information and communication technology industries and services. The site has information on EU policy initiatives, conferences, surveys and standards.

The European Union’s official e-Commerce website, maintained by DG Enterprise contains EU laws and initiatives that promote or otherwise affect e-commerce.

The International Telecommunications Union, or ITU, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, is an international organization within the United Nations System where governments and the private sector coordinate global telecom networks and services.
