Commission Meeting March 16-17, 2004

The Brown v. Board of Education 50th Anniversary Commission will hold its sixth business meeting on March 16, 2004 in Lawrence, Kansas on the campus of Kansas University. The meeting will be held at the Kansas Union, 1301 Jayhawk Boulevard in the Big 12 Room. This business meeting is open to the public. The Brown v. Board of Education case is the consolidation of legal challenges brought by plaintiffs from the states of Delaware, South Carolina, Virginia, Kansas and the District of Columbia. Commissioners representing each of these geographic areas and Commissioners representing the Department of Education, Department of Justice, Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, NAACP, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Brown Foundation and National Parks Service will be in attendance. On March 17, 2004 the Commissioners will travel to Topeka, Kansas to preview the Brown v. Board National Historic site.
