U.S. Labor Department Holds $21,713 in Back Wages for Nebraska Workers

KANSAS CITY — Back wages totalling $21,713 are being held by the U.S. Department of Labor for 64 individuals whose last known addresses were in the state of Nebraska , Everett P. Jennings, regional administrator of the Department's Wage and Hour Division announced today.

Jennings indicated the money represents back wages collected and owed to individuals covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) of 1938, as amended.

"Every effort is being made to locate the individuals so that payments can be made," Jennings stated. The amounts due these 64 individuals range from a minimum of $100 to a maximum of $5,448.

Individuals who believe they may be due back wages should write to the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment Standards Administration, Wage and Hour Division, Room 700, 1100 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64105. The information submitted should include the individual's current mailing address, social security number and a daytime phone number. Individuals will be asked to provide information on the name and location of their employers and dates of employment within the last three years.
