U.S. LABOR DEPARTMENT FILES COMPLAINT AGAINST LITCHFIELD COMPANY FOR ALLEGED OVERTIME PAY VIOLATIONS
Chicago The U.S. Department of Labor has filed a complaint against Bailey & Associates, Inc., 108 W. Union, Litchfield, and its owner William H. Bailey alleging overtime pay violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
The department alleged in a complaint filed in U.S. District Court, Springfield, that since January 1994 the company failed to pay employees one and one-half times the regular rate of pay for hours worked over 40 in a workweek as required by the FLSA.
The department asked the court to find the company and Bailey liable for unpaid back wages plus interest due to current and former employees and to permanently enjoin them from further violations of the FLSA.
The legal action resulted from an investigation by the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour District Office, 509 W. Capitol Ave., Suite 205, Springfield, under the supervision of Henry Rodriguez, district director.
