Research Project: ENHANCEMENT OF THE USDA AGNPS AND CONCEPTS MODELING SYSTEMS IN SUPPORT OF THE NRCS SPECIAL EMPHASIS CEAP WATERSHED PROJECT IN CALIFORNIA

Location: Watershed Physical Processes Research Unit

2006 Annual Report

4d.Progress report.
This report serves to document research conducted under a Reimbursable Agreement between ARS and the State of California, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Additional details of research can be found in the report for the inhouse project 6408-13000-017-00D, Integrated Assessment and Analysis of Physical Landscape Processes that Impact the Management of Agricultural Watersheds. The NRCS Special Emphasis Conservation Evaluation Assessment Project (CEAP) Watershed, Stemple Creek, has been impacted by elevated sediment and nutrient loads. The effectiveness of conservation practices to improve water quality will be evaluated by the computer models AnnAGNPS and CONCEPTS. Extensive watershed and channel data was collected during FY 2006 for use as a database to enhance and validate the models, such as survey data collected to describe the channel geometry and properties of channel sediments.
