Location: Columbus, Ohio

2006 Annual Report

4d.Progress report.
This report serves to document research conducted under a non-funded cooperative agreement between ARS and The Ohio State University. Additional details of research can be found in the report for the parent CRIS 3604-13000-007-00D, Integrated Drainage Management and Flood Tolerant Cropping Systems for Humid Areas. This agreement allowed ARS to drill a well and pump water for a collaborative research project on land owned by OSU. The research has resulted in considerable progress in understanding the principles involved in subirrigation water management practices and has documented the yield and water quality benefits. It has been determined that there is no longer a SDRU research program need for this well and pump. The Corn and Soybean Research Unit at Wooster, Ohio continues to use the well, and discussions will be held to initiate moving this agreement to that CRIS project within the coming year.
