Research Project: DEEP TILLAGE REQUIREMENTS IN IRRIGATED COTTON PRODUCTION SYSTEMS

Location: Application and Production Technology Research Unit

2003 Annual Report

4.What were the most significant accomplishments this past year?
This report serves to document research conducted under a Specific Cooperative Agreement between ARS and the Delta Research and Extension Center at Stoneville, MS. Additional details of the research can be found in the report for parent project 6402-13000-001-00D "Development of water management technology and efficient cropping systems for the Mid-South". This project was established in 2003. Tillage studies were established to determine the interaction of subsoiling with irrigation in reduced tillage cotton and cotton/corn rotation production systems. Economic data will also be collected from on-farm studies to analyze the effect of subsoiling in irrigated crops. Data are being collected and will be analyzed at a later date.
