Secretary Spellings kicked-off her three-day NCLB bus tour in Cleveland, Ohio, where she hosted a National Parent Town Hall, visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and announced the Empowering Parents School Box at Watterson-Lake Elementary School (see photos below).
On the second day, the NCLB bus tour stopped in Cincinnati at Withrow University High School, where Secretary Spellings highlighted the new FAFSA4caster, an online tool that helps families plan ahead financially for college. She later visited Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where she toured the STARBASE program and participated in the Jumpstart Reads for the Record campaign.
On the third day, the bus tour concluded in Indianapolis with visits to Andrew J. Brown Academy and the Children's Museum. Secretary Spellings noted Indiana's student achievement gains over the past five years and underscored that No Child Left Behind should be reauthorized this year. She also announced new guide books on K-8 charter schools and on authorizing charter schools.
