Research Project: WATER ASSESSMENT THROUGH ECOLOGICAL RESEARCH/FARMERS ACTIVE IN RESEARCH

Location: J. Phil Campbell Sr., Natural Resource Conservation Center

2006 Annual Report

4d.Progress report.
This report serves to document research conducted under a specific cooperative agreement between ARS and a local producer as part of a grant funded by the Southern Regional Sustainable Agriculture Research and Extension (SARE) Program. This project contributes to the Integrated Agricultural Systems National Program (207). Additional details can be found in the report for the parent project #6612-61660-001-00D Developing Sustainable Crop and Animal Production Systems Suitable for the Southeast. This watershed project has educational, economic, and environmental components to determine economic and environmental impacts of alternative (integrated crop-forage-animal vs animal) management systems on high nutrient status farms using a paired watershed approach. The local producer has chosen to maintain his high nutrient status field in similar management and is serving as a control. Water quality samples have been and are still being sampled.
