The Security Center provides
Departmental leadership on all matters of information, personnel, and physical
security. Charged with overall management, the Director of the Security Center
is responsible for the Department of Labor's security program and for the
physical protection and safeguarding of DOL Headquarters, Regional and Field
offices, and DOL owned facilities. The Center ensures implementation of
security policy and plans, continuity of resources, and the protection of
agency employees, assets, personal property, and sensitive/classified
information.
Functions:
- Oversees and directs day-to-day activities of contract
security staff in the Frances Perkins Building (FPB)
- Provides written physical security and policy
guidelines
- Provides nationwide assistance and training
- Serves as the liaison with other Federal Departments and law
enforcement agencies on national and local levels
- Coordinates National Headquarters (FPB) Emergency Evacuation
Procedures
- Serves as the Department's representative on the GSA Security
Inter-Agency Committee
- Coordinates courtroom security for Administrative Law Judges

- Coordinate implementation of "DOL Homeland Security Advisory
System/Protective Measures"
