GSA and Carnegie Mellon Offer Architecture SeminarGSA #9407 April 21, 1997 In the interest of improving the architecture planning of federal agencies, a series of seminars are planned by the Office of Governmentwide Policy of the U.S. General Services Administration and the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon. The first seminar is scheduled for May 22, 1997, and will address web databases, commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS) software, and open systems. The seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Building, 1735 New York Avenue NW, 2nd Floor, [18th and New York Avenue, across from GSA] Washington, DC. Consider your e-mail or fax to be your confirmation. You will only be contacted if the AIA conference capacity is exceeded. A Tech Architectures Web Conference has been established at www.gsa.gov/caucus. A second seminar is being planned for the September with the following tentative topics: risks, cost/cost models, product evaluation, acquisition/contracting issues, integration problems, and lessons learned from programs.
