GSA Awards Task Order For EPA One-stop Info ExchangeGSA # 9938 April 9, 2002
GSA's Federal Systems Integration and Management (FEDSIM) Center, a program of the Federal Technology Service (FTS), made the award through GSA's Millennia contract to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) on behalf its client, EPA. With all options exercised, the seven-year performance-driven task order has an estimated value of over $285 million. The task order will integrate complex data processing operations that currently are managed separately. The CDX will allow companie, states, tribes, and other organizations to electronically exchange data with relevant EPA regulatory programs through one central portal on subjects such as hazardous wastes, toxic elements, air quality, water purity, and pesticides. "This award exemplifies the expertise GSA brings to its client agencies," said FTS Commissioner, Sandy Bates. "FEDSIM worked closely with EPA to understand their needs and to tailor the requirements to meet those needs. With our Millennia contract, EPA was assured that some of industry's finest IT integrators would compete for the work. I am very proud of the role FTS has played to help EPA complete the award ahead of schedule, and to help them obtain a high quality solution for a program that will be very important to the American people." Managing over $1.2 billion in new IT acquisitions in 2001, FEDSIM offers federal agencies a wide range of value-added support and has a proven track record of developing innovative, award-winning solutions to government IT challenges. GSA is a centralized federal procurement and property management agency created by Congress to improve government efficiency and help federal agencies better serve the public. It acquires, on behalf of federal agencies, office space, equipment, telecommunications, information technology, supplies, and services. GSA, comprised of 14,000 associates, provides services and solutions for the office operations of over 1 million federal workers located in 8,300 government-owned and leased buildings in 1,600 U.S. communities.
