GSA Issues "Call for Entries" for 1998 Design AwardsGSA #9504 July 29, 1998
"The GSA Design Awards Program recognizes projects in which good design is functional, cost-effective, and inspirational at the same time," Barram said. "The program celebrates these high standards and our partnerships with the private sector, our Federal agency clients, and our dedicated GSA staff in achieving them." The biennial competition will accept entries for the design of new federal facilities, historic preservation and restoration projects, interiors, renovations, alterations, craft, art, landscape design, graphics, engineering, technology and innovation, energy conservation, design management, and "on-the-boards" projects. Entries must be projects that have been developed for GSA between January 1, 1993, and July 1, 1998. Submissions are due by October 26, 1998. Internationally acclaimed architect Robert A. M. Stern will chair the 1998 GSA Design Awards Jury. Awards will be presented at a March 25 ceremony in Washington, DC. GSA's Public Buildings Service administers the Design Awards Program.
