Martin Manufacturing plant, to the “Middle River Station Development, LLC” of Baltimore, Maryland for $37.5 million. “GSA is pleased to be able to make the contract award of this historic property to the Middle River Station Development LLC,” said David L. Winstead, GSA’s Commissioner for Public Buildings. "A refurbished Middle River Station can be truly catalytic to local and regional development, which, in turn, will bring significant economic benefits for the area’s inhabitants." The former plant, located only 13 miles northeast of the city of Baltimore, sits on 50 acres strategically near several main transportation arteries and is near a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. It is listed on the Maryland Historical Trust’s Register and is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. GSA’s Office of Real Property Disposal managed the sale process of the Middle River Station. In this role, GSA acquires products and services on behalf of federal agencies; plays a key role in developing and implementing governmentwide policies; provides services and solutions for the office operations of more than one million federal workers; and encourages a citizen-centric relationship with government by providing a single "point of entry" to the information and services citizens need in a timeframe they can appreciate. This allows citizens to receive accurate, timely and consistent answers and information, and helps federal agencies better respond to citizen inquiries. Index of News Releases
