A Deep-Sea Adventure

Nov. 10–30, 2008, classrooms can follow a team of scientists to the extreme environments of hydrothermal vents. Learn about the organisms that thrive in scalding hot water, toxic chemicals and total darkness. The website has curriculum, study guide and special activities, including a "Phone Call to the Deep" for selected schools.

ARMADA Project
An opportunity for K-12 teachers to participate in an all-expense paid lab, field, or shipboard research experience. Study humpbacks off Alaska, investigate global change impacts in Antarctica, or explore Sumatra's seafloor to name a few. Upon return, teachers share their research experiences with their classrooms and colleagues.
