TInet: Forecast for International Travel

Twice a year the Office of Travel and Tourism Industries issues an econometric-based forecast of tourism arrivals to the U.S. The forecast cover more than 30 primary and secondary world regions and international markets. The program provides forecasted arrivals for a 3-year horizon.

The release of the forecast data is timed to coincide with the Discover America International POW WOW conference in April/May, and the Outlook Forum in October each year. The data are presented at the two conferences and then selected tables and the analysis are posted on our web site. One may view, and print the tables below, and the analysis from the presentation by clicking on the links below.

Or, if one clicked on the "order" link on the previous page, the following materials sent to you for a fee. Included are: (1) a printout of the Power Point presentation, (2) the narrative for each of the charts/graphs issued in the outlook of international travel to the United States presentation, (3) the tables posted to the site with the forecast for the world regions and countries, as well as the table that forecast travel spending.

The only outbound international travel forecast is for the total number of travelers. While the model is designed to provide an outbound forecast by world regions and countries, due to budget constraints, we cannot implement this option. If you are interested in an outbound forecast, please contact OTTI at (202) 482-0140.
