Characterize role of volatile attractants mediating mate location behavior in pear psylla, and identify those attractants.

Approach:
Behavioral assays will be done to ascertain conditions leading to optimal female attractiveness to male pear psylla. The assays will be followed by standard methods in pheromone chemistry to isolate, identify, and synthesize the attractants responsible for mediating male response.
