2007 Annual Report


1a.Objectives (from AD-416)
Laboratory and field tests will evaluate effects of several new insecticides on the mating success of a number of important agricultural pests.


1b.Approach (from AD-416)
Laboratory and field-based bio-assays will be conducted with adult stage of several important agricultural pests. Documents Trust with Dupont. Log 27081.


3.Progress Report
This report serves to document research conducted under a Trust agreement between ARS and DuPont Crop Protection. Additional details of research can be found in the report for the parent project 5352-22000-017-00D 'Management of Insect Pests of Temperate Tree Fruit Crops'. The level of mating among female codling moths in an orchard treated with a new insecticide, Altacor was evaluated following a three spray program during the first moth flight. A slight increase in the proportion of moths that were virgin was detected in the Altacor-treated plots. ADODR STATEMENT: Monitoring of activities and progress on this project was accomplished by direct supervision of on site employees, and use of e-mail and telephone to communicate with off site collaborators.
