Research Project: RISK REDUCTION FOR SOUTHEASTERN PEACHES: IMPLEMENTING MATING DISRUPTION FOR MANAGEMENT OF BORERS

Location: SE Fruit & Tree Nut Research Lab

2006 Annual Report

4d.Progress report.
This report serves to document research conducted under a reimbursable agreement (6606-22000-021-19R) between ARS (Byron Georgia) and the University of Georgia Research Foundation (under EPA-SAI), “Risk Reduction for Southeastern Peaches: Implementing Mating Disruption for Management of Borers,” in collaboration with D.L. Horton (University of Georgia). Mating disruption as a means of managing the lesser peach tree borer has proved promising. High populations of the lesser peach tree borer requiring high rates of pheromone may be economically prohibitive in central Georgia. Research continues to determine necessary rates to achieve control. Additional details of research can be found in the report for the parent project 6606-22000-021-00D.
