Unemployment Compensation
The share of the unemployed receiving unemployment insurance declined slowly, but consistently, starting in the 1940's, dropped dramatically during the 1980-84 period, and remains low. This article examines trends in regular State unemployment insurance programs, as well as changes in receipt of unemployment insurance benefits.
