      Census Bureau Director to Unveil National Survey's 
Findings for District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia
                                
American Community Survey Data Highlight Changes in Public 
Transportation, Education, Child Poverty and Housing Values

What:  Census Bureau Director C. Louis Kincannon will brief reporters on
       the latest data for the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia   
       and West Virginia. The data,generated by the American Community
       Survey, include changes in key socio-economic characteristics such 
       as use of public transportation, education, child poverty and
       home values.

When:  Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. EST
