    Census Bureau Director to Announce Next Phase of Census 2000

  At a news conference on Tuesday, March 14, Census Bureau Director
Kenneth Prewitt will note that Census 2000 is in the hands of the public,
and encourage the nation's residents to complete and mail back their
census questionnaires.

  From March 13 to March 15, the U.S. Postal Service will deliver almost
100 million Census 2000 questionnaires to households across the country.
Millions more already have been delivered by Census Bureau workers.
