Research Project: FIELD TESTING USDA/ARS CITRUS ROOTSTOCK AND SCION SELECTIONS IN CALIFORNIA

4d.Progress report.
Work on his project is related to 6618-21000-012-00D, Genetic Improvement of Citrus. Eight advanced citrus selections developed by the Horticulture and Breeding Research Unit, U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory, Fort Pierce, FL were sent to the USDA-ARS Germplasm Repository, Riverside, CA. The eight selections represented high quality juice mandarin x orange hybrids, mandarin hybrids for fresh fruit, and non-bitter grapefruit-like selections. The selections will be shoot-tip cultured to remove potential pathogens and tested prior to release for field testing in California.
