The Eighth Annual Federal Aviation Awards was Presented in June 2008GSA was proud to present the seventh annual Federal Aviation Awards on June 23, 2008, at FedFleet 08 held in Dallas, Texas. GSA sponsors these awards each year to recognize the safest, most effective and efficient aviation operations among the civilian federal agencies. The winners, who were honored for their accomplishments in 2007, included:
The Federal Aviation Administration, Aviation System Standards Flight Inspection Program, won the Large Aviation Program Award
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Aircraft Operation Center, won the Small Aviation Program Award
Mr. David Finney, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, received the Federal Aviation Professional Award (Managerial Category)
Mr. Joe Y. Keller, Department of Energy, was the winner of the Federal Aviation Professional Award in the Operational Category
Judges for the eighth annual Federal Aviation Awards were Matt Zuccaro, President, Helicopter Association International; Jack Kelly, Senior Policy Analyst, U.S. Office of Management and Budget; Robert Blouin, Hawker/Beechcraft; Steve Brown, National Business Aviation Association; and Brian Finnegan, President of the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association.
The Ninth Annual Federal Aviation Awards will be Presented on July 28, 2009, in Chicago, Illinois !!!The awards will take place as part of FedFleet at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers in downtown Chicago. GSA will once again recognize the safest, most effective and efficient aviation operations among the civilian federal agencies. Remember, agencies that nominate deserving individuals and flight operations must hold the Gold Standard Certificate. Agencies must apply for and receive the Gold Standard by April 25, 2009.
