Objective:
The purpose of this symposium is to identify critical needs and opportunities to advance the use of animal genomics to solve problems in animal health.

Approach:
This conference is a crucial step in establishing a dialogue between leaders in the fields of animal genomics and animal health. It will enable them to come togethe in order to plan new directions for collaborative research which will fundamentally change the way we curretly approach animal health research. These collaborations will pave the way for integrating core compentencies in science, computer engineering, and veterinary medicine, by connecting those who are currently engaged in cutting edge genomics research with animal health scientists that are disease experts and understand the real world challenges facing animal health.
