Research Project: SUGARCANE BREEDING AND VARIETAL DEVELOPMENT Project Number: 6410-21000-014-02

Objective:
The objective of this cooperative research project is to improve efficiency in the development and testing of new sugarcane varieties through exchange and evaluation of germplasm with the ultimate goal of releasing new, higher-yielding pest-resistant sugarcane varieties.

Approach:
ARS and the Cooperator will exchange seed,and/or vegetative buds of experimental lines and new varieties (material) for: use in their respective breeding programs, testing and evaluation for specific traits of interest, or as commercial cultivars.
