Defendant.

 

The United States Attorney charges that

From on or about November 30, 2001, to on or about January 30, 2002, in the Northern District of Ohio, Western Division, defendant MARIA T. EATON, while an officer, that is, secretary treasurer of Machinists Local Lodge 2714, a labor organization engaged in an industry affecting commerce, did embezzle, steal and unlawfully and willfully abstract and convert to her own use the moneys, funds, securities, property, and other assets of said labor organization in the approximate amount of $10,000; to wit, defendant did embezzle funds from the union by issuing and negotiating checks in the amount of $6,000 and $4,000, each check made payable to herself, which checks were not authorized.

In violation of Title 29, United States Code, Section 501(c).
