Ocean transportation for donated food aid commodities is arranged through a public, competitive bidding process. The organization or government receiving the food aid donation invites qualified companies to make offers through invitations for bids (IFBs). The IFBs include freight specifications, terms, and conditions, as well as the dates by which bids must be received. Ocean freight IFBs, bid awards, and related information are posted on this page (site?) for Section 416(b), Food for Progress, and the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program.
