SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Groundfish Oversight Committee will meet
to review the Draft Amendment 13 and accompanying Supplemental
Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) prior to its submission to NMFS.
This document is being prepared for submission in December based on a
court order in the case of Conservation Law Foundation et al. v.
Secretary of Commerce. NMFS has petitioned the court to allow a delay
in submitting the document, and the Council has sent a letter for the
court asking for at least a one year delay. If a delay is granted by
the court, further work will be completed before the Amendment is
submitted.
Although non-emergency issues not contained in this agenda may come
before this group for discussion, those issues may not be the subject
of formal action during this meeting. Action will be restricted to
those issues specifically listed in this notice and any issues arising
after publication of this notice that require emergency action under
section 305(c) of the Magnuson-Stevens Act, provided the public has
been notified of the Council's intent to take final action to address
the emergency.
