    Potential symptoms: Headache; weakness; lethargy; dizziness; drowsiness; confusion, disorientation; unconsciousness; ataxia; eye irritation; respiratory irritation (dryness of throat, coughing, wheezing); dyspnea on effort; tachycardia; cyanosis, jaundice; nausea; sometimes vomiting, ringing in the ears; anorexia, weight loss, anemia; skin lesions; symptoms of bladder cancer (painful urination, blood in the urine, lumps in groin or lower abdomen, pain in lower abdomen or back).

    Health Effects: Hematologic (Blood) Disturbances---Methmoglobinemia (HE13) Acute Toxicity--- short-term high hazard effects (HE4); Suspect carcinogen (bladder cancer) (HE2); LD50 (oral, rat) 440 mg/kg.

    Affected organs: Blood, cardiovascular system, liver, kidneys, eyes, respiratory system, skin.

    Note: Interacts with cytochrome P450 2E1 (both as substrate and inhibitor of other substrates), so there is a potential for interaction with ethanol and acetaminophen.
