Ombudsman for the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program
A Message from the Ombudsman Welcome to the Office of the Ombudsman for the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program! The Office of the Ombudsman was created by Congress to address the concerns of claimants and potential claimants regarding their receipt of benefits under Part E of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). This Web site will be a work in progress for the next few months as we set up this new office here within the Department of Labor, but it is my hope that this Web site will ultimately serve as a resource for EEOICPA Part E claimants. Please contact us with your comments and concerns about Part E of EEOICPA. I will also be traveling to Town Hall meetings across the country as the agency rolls out the Part E regulations, and will be available to meet you in person. By law, this office is required to be independent from the EEOICPA
program office. If you contact the Office of the Ombudsman with a concern about
your claim, your identity will not be shared with the agency unless you
authorize us to disclose your personally identifying information. Our goal is
to help Part E claimants and potential claimants receive the benefits they are
entitled to. Please let us know what we can do to help. We look forward to
talking with you. |
