Our facility is headquarters of the Lockheed Martin Systems Integration business. The facility develops and produces maritime helicopter systems as well as the next presidential helicopter, is one of the largest suppliers of postal automation systems to the United States Postal Service, and is a primary supplier of information technology solutions in the federal market.
The Owego facility has approximately 3500 employees, and the main site is approximately 300 acres in southern Tioga county, New York. The facility is in a rural setting and access is restricted.

The majority (about 98%) of SOx emissions are from the use of fuel oil #6. The storage tank levels are measured and the delivered quantity is known. The remainder is natural gas and #2 fuel oil. The natural gas is based on purchase records and the #2 is based on tank levels or emergency generator run time.

Electricity and natural gas consumption quantities are from utility bills. Fuel oil quantity is from tank level measurement and delivery quantity. Propane use is an estimate for its very limited use on site.

The facility uses the same process for community concerns as it does for any external inquiries. The calls are referred to the Communications department from the call center, and the Communications department uses a press inquiry form to record the concern and formulate a response. While the facility does not proactively seek out community concerns on its environmental practices, the facility is a member of the Chambers of Commerce in Broome and Tioga Counties, and have employees sitting on the boards of directors of both organizations. The facility is represented at economic forums, local business shows, and meetings of the Tioga County Department of Economic and Development Planning to maintain a strong presence in the community, and if any environmental concerns exisited, they could be easily voiced.
The community has not had any community environmental concerns in the past year.
