SECTION C: ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE RESULTS

Goal 1: Interface Flooring Systems, Inc.'s first goal is to increase the facility's procurement of recycled content, specifically all raw materials used to produce and package carpet.
Initiated a new process which brings in post consumer carpet on a larger scale to increase the material flow to our recycled backing process and increase our recycle yarn content. We separate clean yarn fiber from backing to improve utilization of materials. Greater impact will be seen in 2008 and beyond after the start-up of all equipment is completed.
Increase quantity of recycle yarn purchased and percentage recycle content in the primary backing – both of which are significant components in carpet tile manufacturing.

Focused efforts in 2006 to improve the “reverse supply chain” for post consumer carpet tile and processing required manufacturing products with that recycled material.

The annual totals are from a EcoMetrics report that is submitted to and audited by Interface Corporate staff. Data is originally from purchasing reports of raw materials and packaging; recycled content is from vendor specifications.

Goal 2: InterfaceFLOR, LLC 's second goal is to invest in renewable energy sources.
Maximize utilization of landfill gas for process boilers. Additional propane gas usage was identified from small forklift tanks and added to the measurement.
Increased landfill gas usage for boilers and continued projects to reduce use of non-sustainable energy including updating lightfixtures and bulbs. Continued obtaining greenhouse gases off-set for Troup County including production growth.
Facility energy usage increased due to increase production and bringing into the facility previously contracted processes. This was to continue development and increase use of new technology allowing us to improve manufacturing and significantly increase usage of post consumer content. The internal process has a smaller total footprint than the previously used process.

Our facility's 2005 energy data was changed. The electricity from off-grid renewable sources had been reported as 3387.6 MMBtus, but now is reported as 3332.37 and on-site solar energy use was reported as zero but is reported as 55.23 MMBtus. The reason for this change is to correct and clarify our renewable energy usage.

Landfill gas usage is obtained from a regular Energy report which is audited by Interface corporate staff. Original data is meter readings of all utilities included on monthly billing statements.
Note: On 6/30/08, Electricity from Off-Grid Renewable Sources for 2005 was changed from 3332.37 MMBtus to zero, and 2006 was changed from 3329.31 MMBtus to zero. These amounts were reported in error, because facility didn't realize at the the time that renewable energy sources are included in 'Electricity purchased/electricity from grid.', in the eGRID sub-region calculations.

Goal 3: InterfaceFLOR, LLC 's third goal is to reduce the generation of, and improve the management of, the facility's non-hazardous waste.
Continue previous intiatives including process quality improvement to reduce waste and off-quality. Ensure maximum material recycling through sortation of materials and proper handling.
Continued off-quality and scrap reduction process improvement. Continued to find alternative uses for production by-products. Audited landfill waste to ensure recyclable materials not included.

Measurement source is the Interface EcoMetrics report which has data source of inbound and outbound billings.

Goal 4: InterfaceFLOR, LLC 's fourth goal is to reduce the facility's total water use.
Roof storm water direction has been completed and initial review for tank sizing completed. A request from the local city for a greater reduction than originally specified has the project still in design phase.
Due to growth of our operations the number of employees has continued to increase. We are currently investigating applicability of storm water to other grey water applications.
New facilities for employee use are low(or zero) flow fixtures and automatic sensors to ensure water is not wasted.
Storm water collection system is being included in plant expansion project plans.
Total plant water usage increased due to increased production volume and the number of employees significantly going up (from 389 at then end of 2005 to 484 at the end of 2006.) Human use is a significant portion of our total water consumption for this plant.

Data is from InterfaceFLOR EcoMetrics report with data sources including facility water bills.

SECTION D: PUBLIC OUTREACH AND PERFORMANCE REPORTING

Regular review of environmental aspects/impacts, SARA reporting analysis and review as well as interaction with local and state officials are ways we ensure that any potential community concerns are addressed. Participation in the Georgia state pollution prevention partnership and HAZWOPER review/training with the local fire department are also used to communicate and prevent potential issues.
In keeping with our corporate mission InterfaceFLOR's employees continue initiatives to go beyond the current expectation of industry for the people in the community and the environment.

Potential risks in the event of fire were reviewed with local emergency response professionals to ensure impacts are minimized or prevented through training.

We have a sustainability website in which we report our environmental initiatives. We maintain open communications with the local governments including working with the City of LaGrange to reduce greenhouse gases from the landfill.
