A Note from the LPA Medical Advisory Board
The LPA MAB has been approached by a social psychologist from the University of Kansas and the UNED National University of Spain that is undertaking a survey of the psychosocial aspects of dwarfism. The MAB approved the researchers request to let the LPA community know of the study and to request their participation.
The researchers are looking for responses from adults (anyone older than 16) with a form of dwarfism. Participation in this program is anonymous. The link is below

We are again saddened to relay the news that we have lost another pioneer in LPA; Ms. Kay Smith passed away Saturday, August 23. Ms. Smith was a long time member of the LPA-MAB, having spent most of her life's work at Johns Hopkins working with short stature patients along with Dr. McKusick, who passed away last month. LPA honored her many years ago with an Honorary Life Member Award, and this year (2008) with the Anna Dixon Award. They will both be greatly missed.

and the Board of Directors of Little People of America

The LPAToday Magazine is the official publication of the Little People of America, Inc., (LPA) and is distributed at no charge as a benefit of membership in LPA. Published once a quarter, it's goal is to provide a wide range of LPA news, opinions, photos and feature articles written by individual members. See link at left for more information on this great member benefit.
Right now although we do have the 'log-in' feature you do not need it to navigate the site. As the site develops the 'log-in' feature will allow you to edit your profile, pay membership and conference registration fees and give you access to members-only areas like the LPA Today-online version.
The LPA Online Superstore is a great place to buy books, music, videos, electronics and just about anything else you can think of. Thanks to our partnership with Amazon.com, LPA will receive a share of the purchase price every time you buy.
