Our Mission

The North Atlantic Area is committed to providing to its employees and visitors a safe environment in which to work, study, and perform diagnostic and research activities. We are also committed to maintaining the highest standards for safety and health and respect for the environment.

It is the policy of the North Atlantic Area to fully comply with all relevant occupational and environmental regulations as well as nationally recognized codes, standards, and agency directives.

Safety is the business and responsibility of each and every North Atlantic Area employee and is achieved through proper engineering, education, training, use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and compliance with pertinent safety directives, rules, and regulations.

North Atlantic Area employees understand and practice appropriate safety procedures for their own protection and the protection of others. Supervisors take an active role in the North Atlantic Area's Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Program by initiating preventative measures to control exposure to hazards associated with activities under their direction.
