SECTION C: ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE RESULTS

Goal 1: Consumer Products Company's first goal is to increase the facility's land and habitat conservation.
In 2007 we did not make progress toward this goal. As a result of the Pfizer intergration our site population temporarliy increased by 400 associates, however, we recently signed a lease to relocate employees to an offsite office building. As a result of this increase in site population an area we intended to add for habitat population became adjacent to a temporaily gravel parking lot. With the reloaction of 400 associates we are believe we can make progress toward this goal in 2008.

We use aerial photographs and on-site walk-throughs to estimate and measure actual areas that support habitat population. No progress in 2007 toward this goal.

Goal 2: Consumer Products Company's second goal is to increase the facility's procurement of recycled content, specifically in office paper.
The Skillman Campus continues to promote the use of recycled content office paper.

The data for this goal is collected by the sole source vendor that is used by J&J. The vendor is Americans Product Distributors Incorporated. All data is submitted to J&J Corporate headquarters and results are provided to each site via an e-mail containing an excel spreadsheet prepared by the vendor.
Note: Baseline data was revised on 7/17/08 to report only weight of recycled content. Data was revised from 1564 lbs to 469 lbs and goal was adjusted accordingly.

Based on employee headcount--2006 is 2000

Goal 3: Consumer Products Company's third goal is to reduce the facility's materials use, specifically polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
J&J Consumer Companies, Inc continues to eliminate PVC from primary, secondary and tertiary packaging of all consumer products. (Drug products are not included in this goal). This effort is conducted in two parts; our Global Packaging Design group insures all new products do not contain PVC. Our Global Technical Assurance manages the process of converting existing products that use PVC into non-PVC packaging. In 2007 we continue to convert to eliminate existing PVC packaging from existing products. The Teams have been challenged by the aquisition of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare products (aquisition date Dec. 2006), however, the Team is confident that all packaging, including the Pfizer Consumer Healthcare products will be PVC-free by the goal stated in our application.

Data toward this goal is provided by the Global Techincal Assurance Associate Director. This data is corrdinated from each region of the globe and also provided as part of our internal J&J sustainability tracking process.

Goal 4: Consumer Products Company's fourth goal is to apply an environmental safety screening process to raw materials used in cosmetics and over the counter drugs to reduce downstream impacts to aquatic organisms.

During 2007 J&J Consumer Companies contracted with Gradient Corporation (located in Cambridge, MA) to refine an environmental hazard tool for use of ingredients. Initial screening was perfromed on 25 high priority ingredients. The tool was modfied and applied to 38 surfactants. After our goal of 50 surfactants we subsquently learned they we only use 38 surfactants.
Screen top 50 (based on Global voulume) of surfactants used by J&J Consumer Companies 12/31/07
Yes
Thirty-eight surfactants were evaluated. A hazard Quotient assessment was perfoemed and the Predicted Environmental Concentration (PEC) calculation was developed and compared to the no effects concentration. Based on the results we developed a scoring system-GREEN-safest, no long-term risks, YELLOW-also safe with no-term risks and ORANGE-could pose potential risk to aquatic life and BLUE-insuficient data. The results: 10 GREEN, 10 YELLOW, 1 ORANGE and 17 BLUE. Fortunately, although we had 17 BLUE's these surfactants only represented 4.9% of our volume so we are able to use the results for 95.1% of our volume Identifcation of environmental hazard for 95% surfactant volume. Sixty-eight percent of volume is generally safe.

In the table below, please provide a narrative summary of progress made toward EMS objectives and targets other than those reported as Environmental Performance Goals. You may limit the summary to environmental aspects that are significant and towards which progress has been made during the reporting year.

Do you have additional environmental aspects to report?   No

SECTION D: PUBLIC OUTREACH AND PERFORMANCE REPORTING

We generally relie on our internal Communications department. In 2007 the site provided funding to the Montgomery Center for the Arts, Montgomery EMS, PBA, Education Fund, Rotary Club, High School and other Schools;and Hills Actors Guild. We also conducted an employee drive for the new township food bank and continue to support the local bike safety program.

As noted in D.1.c we periodically host a "meet and greet" for township officials. As part of thsi activity (last one held on March 17th, 2008) we provide an update on activities and we listen to any concerns made from the township officials. Additionally, we have an open communication with township officiials through Communication department.

The community asked us to participate at its Earth Day event-see response in D.1.c.

The Skillman campus Environmental, Health and Safety department participated in the local-Montgomery Township Earth Day celebration held on April 22nd. J&J Consumer Companies funded the computer recycling vendor and provide free service to community. We also provided a presentation on our solar panels. The Skillman site also periodically holds a meeting with the public officials as a "meet and greet." These events are coordinated by our Communications group.
