This office provides various acquisition and property-related services for the North Atlantic Area, which encompasses 15 research laboratories from West Virginia to Maine. This office provides advice and guidance to administrative and scientific personnel on the procurement and property processes; how best to obtain goods and services utilizing the most appropriate mechanism (Government Purchase Card, purchase order, contract, lease, etc.), and is the liaison on such matters with ARS Management.

Contracting: (When the dollar threshold exceeds the locations’ delegation of authority), Acquires services, supplies, and equipment up to $500,00; construction projects up to $1,000,000, and architect-engineering projects up to $100,000.

Procurement: Acquires services, supplies, and equipment up to $25,000 primarily for the Eastern Regional Research Center.

Real Property: Processes long and short term leases, easements, permits, etc. Handles tort claims and provides advice and assistance on telecommunications and security issues.

Personal Property: Monitors and coordinates property (equipment) inventories, acquires vehicles and monitors motor vehicle fleets (automobile and marine).
