Federal Fleet Policy Council (FEDFLEET)The Federal Fleet Policy Council (FEDFLEET) is composed of representatives and alternates from federal agencies or activities, at the national level, that manage and operate federal motor vehicle fleets. Activities of the Council are directed by an elected steering committee.
CHARTER
1. Official designation. The name of this committee is the Federal Fleet Policy Council (FEDFLEET). 2. Functions. Motor vehicles are an integral tool for agencies to use in meeting their missions. With the size, complexity and cost of the Federal Fleet, as well as the numerous laws impacting fleet operations, it is imperative that it be managed as effectively and efficiently as possible. The council provides a forum for agencies to communicate information, to discuss shared concerns, and to agree on solutions to common problems. As part of this, the council functions consist of: a. Serving as a focal point to federal agencies for the coordination of vehicle management problems, plans, and programs common to all federal fleets; and b. Serving as a focal point to agencies as they establish systems to monitor motor vehicle costs. c. Providing a forum for the review and development of the programs within the federal fleet that will promote the economical and cost efficient operation of all Government-owned and leased motor vehicles. Subcommittees, task forces or other bodies will be developed as needed. These programs shall include functions such as:
3. Membership. a. The Council shall consist of representatives and alternates from agencies or activities operating a federal motor vehicle fleet. b. The Council shall be directed by a steering committee composed of five members representing the following categories: Law Enforcement Department of Defense Civilian Agency Small Fleet Large Fleet
4. Changes or Amendments. Any changes or amendments to this charter shall be approved by the Steering Committee and submitted to the FEDFLEET membership for approval. Changes or amendments become effective only after approved by the membership of FEDFLEET. 5. Meetings. Meetings will be on a periodic basis, generally quarterly. The FEDFLEET steering committee will be responsible for the content and direction of these meetings.
