Mary Nix
Mary Nix joined AHRQ with more than 20 years of experience in health care, primarily in major academic medical centers but also at ECRI, a non-profit health services research organization and an AHRQ Evidence-based Practice Centers (EPC). She has a bachelor's degree in medical technology and master's degree in pathology with a specialty certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Specialist in Blood Banking Technology (MS, MT(ASCP)SBB).
Although exposed to public health issues during graduate school coursework, Mary's professional life has a concentration in clinical blood bank/transfusion medicine where she's worked as a bench laboratorian, quality assessor and regulatory officer, educator, and manager. Mary transitioned from the clinical arena to health services research when accepting a position at ECRI to work exclusively on AHRQ's National Guideline Clearinghouse™ (NGC) project.
Mary is the Project Officer for NGC, the National Quality Measures Clearinghouse™, and QualityTools.
